Missouri Southern State University has a new state of the art facility, which nearly doubles the size of the old bookstore.
The old store was in the basement of the Student Center.
The new store is still in the Student Center, but now it's on the main floor and is more accessible and easier to maintain.
Administrators and students say it's a timely improvement for the university.
"I think you can see the advantage if you see the old bookstore," says MSSU President Bruce Speck, Ph.D. "That building was serviceable for a while. It actually became inserviceable. We had some troubles trying to maintain it."
"Bring in a lot of students to support the university - it will really grab their attention and get them in here, I think it will be great," says sophomore Stephanie Taylor.
In addition to traditional bookstore fare, shoppers will find a wider selection of candies and snacks, perfect for pulling an all-nighter.
