JASPER COUNTY, MO. - An Alba,  Missouri woman is dead after a crash with a semi truck.  The Jasper County coroner says Debra Smith, 50, died upon impact.

The crash happened around 9:30 Friday morning at the intersection of highways 43 and 96 north of Joplin.

Highway 96 remained closed for much of the day while the roadway was cleared and investigators collected evidence.

This is the second fatal accident at this intersection within the last three months.

On October 26 a Wichita, Kansas woman was also killed traveling west on 96 crossing highway 43.
