
JOPLIN -- The Missouri Southern men's track and field team has qualified six individuals in seven events for the 2012 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships to be held May 24-26 in Pueblo, Colo.
Freshman Jeff Fraley has been lighting up the track this season and he has qualified in both the 100m and 200m dash. He ranks 4th in the 100m, while ranking 2nd in the 200m coming into nationals.
Freshman Darion Boure qualified 14th in the triple jump, while sophomore Clark Tanksley qualfiied 13th in the high jump.
Junior Dustin Green qualified 11th in the discus, while freshman Nicklas Polizzi was 15th in the event. Junior Michael Juergens qualified 16th in the pole vault.
The Missouri Southern women's track and field team has qualified four individuals in six different events for the 2012 NCAA Division II National Meet in Pueblo Colo. to take place on March 24-26.
Senior Lisa Vengels qualified for two events as her automatic mark in the high jump ranks her eighth in Division II this season. She also qualifed 14th in the heptathlon.
Senior Nicole Green ranks 8th in the shot put going into the national meet and is looking for her fifth All-American honor after earning All-American status in the indoor season.
Sophomore Jasmin Hughes qualified 16th for both the 100m and 200m dash, while freshman Melanie Bower, the 2012 MIAA Indoor and Outdoor pole vault champion, qualified 11th in the pole vault.
