Allen, Moore, 1991 PSU Football Team Enshrined in MIAA Hall of Fame

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The 1991 Pitt State National Champion football team as well as former All-Americans Ronald Moore (football) and Christie Allen Logue (cross country/track & field) were inducted in the MIAA Hall of Fame as members of the Class of 2012 Thursday (June 7) at the MIAA Awards Banquet held at the Marriott Muehlebach Tower.

Moore, a running back for Pitt State from 1989-92, captured the 1992 Harlon Hill Award as the NCAA Division II national player of the year during his senior season. He finished his collegiate career as the school's all-time rushing leader with 4,299 yards and 52 touchdowns. Moore also has been inducted into the PSU Athletics Hall of Fame as well as the Division II Football Hall of Fame.

Logue, a women's track & field and cross country student-athlete at Pitt State from 1989-93, finished her decorated career as an eight-time NCAA Division II National Champion and an 11-time All-American. She was named the NCAA Division II Woman Athlete of the Year in 1993, received GTE Academic All-America® honors on three occasions and was honored as an NCAA Today's Top Six recipient.

The 1991 Pitt State football team captured the school's first NCAA national championship, as well as the first football national championship for an MIAA school. The Gorillas won their final 11 games, capping a 13-1-1 season with a 23-6 victory over Jacksonville State in the national championship game at Florence, Ala.

Additionally, Pitt State's 2011-12 MIAA champion men's football, women's cross country and men's outdoor track & field teams were recognized at the event.
