    For two days the Joplin Convention Center will be devoted to all things manly. Sponsored by The Big Nickel, the first "ManXpo" is set for noon to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and will be an  interactive event, with booth promos and public interaction both days.  Everything from NASCAR and Golf simulators, as well as a catch and release fish pond.     ? On September 21, 2017 at 5:06pm Officers were dispatched to a call at 132 South St. Louis. The caller said there was a disturbance in the residence and a male had fired a gun. An officer and a trainee were right by the location when the call came out, and arrived immediately. They began gathering information from people outside and learned the suspect was still in the house along with a female and two small children.     On Monday, September 25, 2017, we will have a system-wide water shutdown.  Starting at 6:00 AM, we will begin closing off valves at our storage tank to deplete our distribution system.  We need to change a hydrant and add two main-line valves into our system and are unable to do so while the system is pressurized.  What this means for you is that there will be no available water services starting at 6:00 AM.  All of the prep work for these jobs should be completed ...More >>
