Empire District Electric customers in Missouri will see a fee that's been itemized on their bill this month. Company workers say the fee has actually been around for about the last 10 years, it's just been included in the bill's total cost.
The fee is listed as an "Energy Efficiency Program Cost" and funds an Empire rebate program to help pay for energy efficient upgrades.
For a $121 bill a customer would pay $0.27 for this program.
