A man who allegedly broke into a Joplin home, assaulted a person with a baseball bat and stole items is in custody. According to court documents, on April 13th around 7:00 a.m., 17-year-old Brenton Hollis and another unknown male broke into the front door of a home on S. Annie Baxter Ave. in Joplin, MO. Update: Joshua Bard says he sent in a letter of resignation today (April 26th). -- A judge temporarily suspends Joshua Bard from being on the city council. Bard, a newly elected Joplin City Council member, submitted his resignation in early April because of a previous drug conviction. He then reversed his decision to resign.

A stabbing investigation leads to the arrest of the stabbing victim. On Wednesday morning around 6:30 a.m. (April 25, 2018), Pittsburg police officers were called to Via Christi Hospital for a male that had been stabbed. The Joplin Police Department worked a deadly crash at 7th and Tri State Tuesday evening (April 24). Authorities say 58-year-old Mark Rohr, driving a Dodge Durango, was turning east from the stop sign at 7th and Tri State Road.  38-year-old Donald D. An employee at Charlie's Chicken (2020E. 32nd Street) says she locked the business up and was walking to her vehicle when a male walked up to her in the parking lot. Vehicle Driven By Teen Crashes Through Erie High School

At about 11:30 pm, April 21st, a vehicle crashed into the front door of Erie High School. According to USD 101 Superintendent Steve Wolf, a 16-year-old male from St. Paul drove a pickup truck through the hallways of the school. The incident damaged doorways, walls, furniture and the antique Richey's Drug Store soda fountain. The Erie Police Department arrested the teen at the scene.
