    One person is reported injured after a shooting in Parsons around noon on September 19th, 2018. According to the Parsons Police Department, the incident took place near the corner of 24th and Thornton Streets. Authorities say the shooting is being treated as an isolated event and say there is no perceived threat or danger to the general public from this incident. One person was reported injured and is receiving treatment at Labette Health. Police say a suspect is in custody...

    Hard 50 Given in Iola Murder Case

    An Allen County, Kansas judge sentences Joshua Knapp of Iola, Kansas to life in prison with a hard 50 for murdering Shawn Cook.  Shawn Cook was reported missing on March 13th, 2016. His body was found on the banks of the Neosho River in Coffey County, Kansas on April 3rd, 2016. A preliminary autopsy showed Cook died from stab wounds. Five people from Iola were charged in his murder.
