The City of Pittsburg announces that Major Brent Narges has been appointed the interim police chief. He'll take over for Mendy Hulvey who announced her retirement last month. Her last day is June 29, 2018. According to the Jasper County Sheriff's Office, on Wednesday (April 18), deputies were called to 10125 County Lane 273 in Carl Junction. Deputies spoke with two women who were trying to get their dog from their neighbors yard. The women were in the 71-year-old's driveway when the man came out with a pistol threatening to shoot them for trespassing. Native American Tribes across the United States are gradually losing their languages as fewer tribal members speak in their native tongue and elders stop passing it on to their grandchildren.
