Incident Spotlight Last night at 11:04pm one of our detectives observed a vehicle stopped at 12th and Campbell Parkway, next to a sign that said no parking. The detective activated his red and blue lights and parked behind the van. The van began to roll forward slowly as the officer walked up to the driver’s window. Incident Spotlight Today at 1:32pm one of our officers stopped a vehicle at 14th and Florida for improper plates. The driver was revoked and was placed under arrest. The male in the back seat gave a false name. The officer quickly determined the male didn’t have the appropriate tattoos he should have, if he was in fact the name he said he was. Incident Spotlight Yesterday evening at 7:38pm officers attempted to contact a male at a residence at 117 South McKinley, across from Jefferson Elementary School, for a felony warrant from Stone County, Missouri for Hindering Prosecution. The male pulled his truck into the garage, ignored officers’ commands, went inside and slammed the garage door on officers in pursuit. Pittsburg Drug Bust

Pittsburg Police have arrested two people in a drug bust.  Officers served a search warrant Friday morning (Feb 16) at a home on the 800 block of W. 1st Street.  The search warrant pertained to the possession of illegal drugs. Officers say they found several items they believed to be cocaine, marijuana and drug related paraphernalia in the home, along with a handgun, which was determined to have been stolen from a different home in Pittsburg. Incident Spotlight Yesterday evening at 9:37pm officers were dispatched to area of 26th and Florida for approximately 10 gunshots. (called in by multiple callers) The area was extensively searched to the north, east, and, west, where the shots were reported. Incident Spotlight This morning just before 5am we were called to McDonalds, 4436 S. 43 Highway, for two people passed out in a vehicle in the drive thru. Officers arrived and found a male driver and a female passenger passed out in a 1990 Honda Accord in the drive thru. The female had a spoon and syringe visible in her hand. Incident Spotlight Yesterday evening at 6:42pm officers responded to the area of Cox and Hill for reported gunshots. Officers located spent shell casings in the roadway. Witnesses reported seeing a vehicle approach, hearing the shots and seeing the vehicle speed away. No damage or injuries were reported. More>>

A male and female came in and ate and had drinks and left without paying the $46.64 bill. Either during the dining or while dashing, the male's wallet was left behind on his seat. Incident Spotlight Yesterday evening at 8:12pm one of our officers stopped a vehicle at 7th and Byers for lane use. The 40 year old female driver from Sarcoxie lied to the officer about where he saw her leaving, and then stuffed a box containing a glass pipe down into the passenger seat. Incident Spotlight Overnight, a neighboring law enforcement agency requested our assistance dealing with a suicidal male. The male had a knife to his throat, threatening to kill himself or force officers to kill him. There was also a female and small child in the home, and he refused to move away from the front door. Incident Spotlight Last night at 10:22pm a female called to report that she was at 4th and Main and a male ran into the intersection masturbating, and yelling for someone to call the police. An officer arrived and saw the male standing on the corner of the intersection, still masturbating. The officer told the 53 year old Joplin male to "stop," and the suspect charged at him before complying and being arrested for sexual misconduct. More>>
