In 2007, Christopher Drew Ingle and his band Never Shout Never put acoustic pop songs on MySpace. Ingle averaged more than 15,000 online plays a day.
He later released his own CD and Ingle was invited by MTV to compete with other developing artists.
On Wednesday Never Shout Never won a mtvU Woodie Award. MTV also said Ingle was the best dressed musician. Ingle says he bought his clothes, including a Minnie Mouse sweatshirt, from a thrift store.
Ingle's father told us Christopher is thrilled about the award and is now on his way back home to Joplin.
