Southeast Kansas authorities say a Neodesha, Kansas man killed his ex-wife's boyfriend then killed himself.

A news release issued by Neosho County Sheriff James Keath says Sunday at about 2:30 p.m. officers were dispatched to a report of a shooting about three miles east of Galesburg, Kansas at 70th and Ness Road.

Officers found Clayton Wright, 54, of Erie, who had been shot with a large caliber handgun.  Wright was taken to a nearby hospital and was later pronounced dead.

Witnesses identified Roger Counsil Sr, 40, of Neodesha as the shooter.

A man hunt led officers to Grandview Cemetery in Wilson County, Kansas.

A ten hour stand off with law enforcement from Wilson, Montgomery and Neosho Counties and the Kansas Highway Patrol Counsil took his own life.

Autopsies on both men will be conducted.

Neosho County Sheriff James Keath says Counsil was the ex-husband of Tonya Counsil and was with Wright at the time of the shooting.  Tonya Counsil suffered minor injuries.

An investigation continues.
