Joplin police asking for help in search for today's bank robber (with PICS)


Updated 4:00 PM CST:  Police in Joplin say the suspect displayed a note to bank employees saying he had a weapon and demanded money, but never showed a weapon.

No one was hurt during today's incident.

Anyone with information on the suspect's location is asked to call the Joplin Police Department at 417-623-3131.

Originally posted December 1, 2010 11:53 AM CST:  The Arvest Bank on East 32nd Street in Joplin was robbed this morning.

Police say a Hispanic man missing three of his lower-front teeth was seen leaving the bank just after 10:30 a.m.

Authorities are at the scene and should have more information later this afternoon.

This is the City of Joplin's fifth bank robbery this year.

We will post more information as it is confirmed.

CORRECTION:  Previously it was reported that this was Joplin's third bank robbery in 2010.  In fact it was the fifth.
