
WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- Ryan Harris made two free throws with 11.0 seconds remaining in regulation to help Central Missouri seal a 78-74 victory over Pitt State Saturday (Dec. 18) at the UCM Multipurpose Building.
UCM (8-3, 3-2 MIAA)led 61-50 with 6:24 to play in the game, but Pitt State (6-3, 2-3 MIAA) rattled off eight of the next nine points to get back into the contest.
Boo Hunter poured in a game-high 26 points to lead the Mules, including 14 points at the free throw line where UCM outscored Pitt State, 34-20.
Chris Ware had a season-best 22 points to pace Pitt State on eight of 10 shooting. Eric Ray added 16 points for the Gorillas, who dropped their 12th straight decision in the series to UCM.
Harris added 17 points while Tyrone Young finished with 11 points -- all in the first half.
Pitt State will return to action on Jan. 2 when the Gorillas travel to Joplin, Mo., to face Missouri Southern.
