Friday morning April 8th

Good Friday morning.  Hey my internet is back up at home.  You would think it should be up everyday when I pay for it.  I guess I have a weak receiving signal is what I am told.  Hmm, that is all I have to say about that.  Ok lets jump into the weather and see what is going on.  I want to really cover the next 4 days with a wide ride heading our way.

We have a stationary/warm front across our northern counties.  This will stay in place today and allow our southern half of the region warm into the 80s for highs.  Our northern half of the viewing area should make it into the upper 70s to near 80 degrees.  A weak little wave will interact with this front late today and tonight.  Let me show you what I am talking about.

This should allow for some scattered showers and thunderstorms to pop up late today and tonight.  Our warm front will push way north on Saturday.  We will see the southerly winds increase and our temperatures should be well into the 80s for highs.

On Sunday our next wave moves in.  This will be a strong upper level storm that will produce showers and thunderstorms.  The question is where and when?  So lets look at Sunday.

A dryline will move into the area sometime on Sunday afternoon.  This is the NAM model which wants to blow up severe storms mid to late afternoon.  But I am not sure that the dryline won't sneak through a little quicker.  These are the things I need to watch.  However, it does need to be watched closely.  If the timing comes together with the dryline pushing through on Sunday mid afternoon, we could have a moderate risk for severe thunderstorms.  The risk would be gusty winds, large hail and isolated tornadoes.  But again we are a few days away and the timing of the dryline is still way up in the air.  I will keep you updated on this.

Long range:  Another system will roll in late next week.  This looks to be on track for about Thursday and Friday.  Again this all fits right in line with my theories and this 50 day pattern that will we see this spring and summer.  Some other dates to watch would be, around the 17th, 19th and the weekend of the 23rd.

Here is your 7-Day forecast.

Your long range forecast is below.  Have a great Friday everyone.

April (10th-16th):

Chances for scattered thunderstorms on Sunday.  Some of these could be strong to severe.  Turning a little cooler on Monday.  Our next wave will give us thunderstorm chances on Tuesday and Wednesday.  We will see warmer temperatures by the weekend with thunderstorm chances on Saturday and Sunday.

April 17th-23rd:

Thunderstorm chances at the beginning of the week for Sunday.  Another shot for thunderstorms around Tuesday.  Then I don't see much happening until the weekend once again.

April 24th-30th:

A cool start to the week, but quickly warming back up.  We will see another storm affecting us Wednesday and Thursday.  Then cooling down for the end of the month into the weekend.

May (1st-7th):

Temperatures warming back up at the beginning of the week.  Rain chances on Monday and Tuesday, then cooler temperatures for the rest of the week.
