Meteorologist Brian Davis:
Good evening everyone, We are continuing to monitor the weather situation this evening. The good news is that the tornado threat has weakened considerably. We will still have the hail, wind, and lighting to deal with over parts of our viewing area from Chanute to Baxter Springs and Miami and points east for the next 2 to 3 hours. Here is a view of the radar as of 10:15 this evening.

Meteorologist Doug Heady:
Good evening everyone. I want to give you an update on what is going on. Here is a look at our latest interactive radar.

These storms have weakened a bit as they have been working east. SW MO and NW AR is still highly capped, but fairly unstable. What this is doing is not allowing these storms to push east very quickly and causing them to weaken a bit. Right now we are just looking at severe thunderstorm warnings. The dryline is still a bit back to the west. Let me show you.
The dryline is still along our western counties. So I expect storms to keep firing up along the dryline and pushing into this complex. I expect the tornado threat to continue to drop. Now I think the threat with tornadoes has dropped just to a possible weak tornado forming. But after 8 or so, this threat will be going down evening more. So we are starting to shift to a high wind hail threat for the rest of the night. These will continue to for and push through. I don't expect them out of here for several hours. I will keep you updated and I am sure your all happy the tornado threat is rapidly decreasing.
Here is a look at your 7-day forecast.
Doug
