PITTSBURG -- The Pitt State Softball team fell 2-0 and 13-1 to Central Missouri on Saturday (April 30) at the PSU Softball Complex. The Gorillas honored seniors Alycia Fivecoats and Erin Eddy between the two games.
In game one, Central Missouri scored one run in each the first and sixth innings. Pitt State had only two hits in the game, a double by Kelsey Loncarich and a base hit by Katelyn Birchfield.
Game two saw the Gorillas get five hits, but they also left seven runners on base. Pitt State scored its one run in the third inning. Fivecoats led off the inning with a walk. Tiffany Brown followed with a base hit. Both runners advanced on an Eddy ground out. Birchfield walked to load the bases. A fielder's choice on Ketcham's at bat left all runners safe and allowed Fivecoats to score.
Central Missouri scored three runs in the third, two in the fifth and used a big eight-run sixth to end the game by the eight-run rule after the sixth.
Tiffany Brown took the loss in both games.
The Gorillas finish the season with a 13-35 overall record and a 4-18 record in MIAA play.
