Good morning everyone. Well it is definitely a cold start around the area with some patchy frost. Click on the link below to see the current temperatures.
We will see partly sunny skies today and temperatures will start to warm up. Our average high is about 75 degrees and we won't get close to it, but still better than today. I expect highs to be into the low to mid 60s. We are moving right along in our 50 day pattern. Let me throw up some maps to show you where we are at right now. Here is the upper level map for today.
You can see the upper level wave on top of us that caused the showers on Sunday and Monday. Here is a look back at the past two cycles that are each 50 days apart.
You can see the same upper level waves pushing through during the same part of the cycle. So what is to come over here over the next week or so? Well we will see a warming trend through the week. Let me go ahead and post the 7-day forecast.
We will have slight chances for a few thunderstorms on Thursday. Most of the moisture will be north of us and right now this doesn't look like a very big deal, but I will keep my eyes on it. Another wave will give us some possibly strong thunderstorms on Friday night and Saturday morning. Right now I think Saturday afternoon should be fine as the storms press east. We will have to watch the timing of this wave.
Temperatures continue to warm up on Sunday and Monday. We will see slight chances for thunderstorms on Sunday and Monday. However, the better chances will hold off until Tuesday. This is when a strong upper level system will rotate across the central plains and give us a severe threat.
I will keep you updated on this and I have updated the long range forecast below.
