Southern men's and women's track and field qualifies five individuals for 2011 Outdoor Track Championships

JOPLIN -- The Missouri Southern men's and women's outdoor track and field teams have qualified five different individuals for the 2011 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships to be held May 26-28 in Stanislaus, Calif. 

The Missouri Southern men will be represented by Michael Juergens, Aki Nummela and Corey Reynolds. Juergens ranks fifth in the pole vault going into the meet, while Nummela ranks 8th in the 1,500m and Reynolds ranks 14th in the high jump.

On the women's side, Lisa Vengels and Nicole Green will make return trips to the Champioships after both qualifying in indoors. Vengels goes into the meet ranked second in the high jump, while Green is 10th in the shot put.
