McBride and Stars edge Shock 95-93
SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Kayla McBride scored 23 points and the San Antonio Stars overcame career-highs by Odyssey Sims and Skylar Diggins to beat the Tulsa Shock 95-93 on Tuesday night.
Danielle Robinson scored 21 points, including the game-winning basket for San Antonio (11-12). Danielle Adams had 15 points and Becky Hammon had 10 points as the Stars remained in third place in the West ahead of the Los Angeles Sparks (10-12).
Sims had 39 points and Diggins had 34 for Tulsa (8-15), which fell to 3-9 on the road.
Sims scored 12 points in the fourth quarter, including a driving layup to tie the game at 91 with 1:19 remaining. Adams followed with a pair of free throws, but Sims had another driving layup to forge another tie.
Robinson responded with a driving layup to put the Stars ahead 95-93 with 3.9 seconds remaining.

OSU coach named as coach for Columbian team
STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) - Oklahoma State University assistant track and field coach Diego Flaquer has been named the sprints coach for the Colombian national team at the IAAF World Junior Track and Field Championships.
Flaquer, who is entering his second season as the OSU sprints coach, will coach the Colombian men's and women's sprinters at the event, scheduled Tuesday through Sunday in Eugene, Oregon.
In Flaquer's first year at OSU, the Cowboys had one of their best sprint seasons in recent memory.
Under his guidance, Tyreek Hill set school records in the indoor 60 meters and 200 meters, claiming the conference title in the 200 and finishing as runner up in the 60.
He was joined as an indoor All-Big 12 performer by John Teeters.
TULSA-UCONN GAME BROADCAST
Tulsa men's soccer game against UConn broadcast
TULSA, Okla. (AP) - The Tulsa men's October soccer match against UConn will be broadcast live on NSCAATV.com.
The National Soccer Coaches Association of America made the announcement Tuesday.
The game is scheduled for Oct. 11 in Storrs, Connecticut.
The Golden Hurricane finished last season with an 11-6-3 overall record, but fell in the Conference USA Championship match and narrowly missed the NCAA Tournament.
The school outscored its opponents 37-19, had four players named to the NSCAA All-Midwest Region team and seven players picked up C-USA accolades.
UConn finished as the American Athletic Conference Championship runner-up, advanced to the NCAA Championship quarterfinals and finished the year ranked No. 9 by the NSCAA.
Tulsa hosting volleyball players from across world
TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Volleyball teams from across the world are in Tulsa this week for the 15th annual USA Volleyball High Performance Championships.
The event features some of the best teams from USA Volleyball High Performance pipeline teams, USA Volleyball Region High Performance teams and international squads.
In addition to domestic teams, the field includes eight international teams.
Play starts Tuesday and continues through Saturday at the Cox Business Center in downtown Tulsa.
