T25-OKLAHOMA-RECEIVERS

Oklahoma moving forward without Green-Beckham

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - Oklahoma is ready to move on without Dorial Green-Beckham.

The 6-foot-6 receiver was kicked out at Missouri, and he transferred to Oklahoma hoping he could play this season. Now that the NCAA has ruled against his waiver request, the focus shifts to Sterling Shepard, Durron Neal, K.J. Young and the rest of a talented, but somewhat unproven unit, heading into Saturday's opener against Louisiana Tech.

Shepard, Oklahoma's top returning receiver, caught 51 passes for 603 yards and seven touchdowns last season. Neal caught 13 passes for 176 yards in 2013. Young, a redshirt freshman, will start in the slot.

Second string receivers are Derrick Woods, Jordan Smallwood and Michiah Quick, a highly touted true freshman.

Blake Bell will start at tight end after shifting from quarterback in the spring.

TULSA PREVIEW

Tulsa hopes Garrett return revives offense

(AP) - Tulsa's first chance to make an impression in its new conference comes early.

The Golden Hurricane host Tulane in their American Athletic Conference debut Thursday night.

Tulsa should put a better offense on the field than last year. Receiver Keyarris Garrett is back after missing most of last season with a broken leg. The previous year, he caught 67 passes for 845 yards and nine touchdowns.

Dane Evans returns at quarterback. But Tulsa must replace star running back Trey Watts, who ran for 1,329 yards and 11 touchdowns and caught 46 passes last season. D'Angelo Brewer, Tavarreon Dickerson and James Flanders should share the load.

Safety Michael Mudoh leads a defense that returns all but one starter.

THUNDER-76ERS TRADE

Oklahoma City trades C Thabeet to 76ers

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The Oklahoma City Thunder have traded center Hasheem Thabeet and cash to the Philadelphia 76ers for a protected second-round draft pick in 2015 and a trade exception.

The deal was announced on Tuesday. The Thunder have a year to use the trade exception.

Thabeet, a 7-foot-3 defensive specialist from Tanzania, played in 66 games in 2012 and averaged nearly a block per contest. His playing time was reduced last season when first-round pick Steven Adams emerged as the backup center.

The Grizzlies made Thabeet the second overall pick in the 2009 draft. The former Connecticut star also has played for the Houston Rockets and the Portland Trail Blazers.
