CHICAGO (AP) - Mike Moustakas homered twice as the Kansas City Royals snapped a four-game losing streak with a 7-1 rout of the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday night. Moustakas went 3 for 5 with three RBIs. The Royals entered the game with a major league-worst 55 homers and had managed a total of six runs during the losing streak.

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Jake Odorizzi allowed two runs over 5 2-3 innings to lead the Tampa Bay Rays to a 7-2 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals last night. It was the Rays' season-high sixth straight win. They have outscored the opposition 36-11 during the run. Evan Longoria added a solo homer in the ninth for Tampa Bay.

ST. LOUIS (AP) - It's starting to get intense for Michael Sam and the rest of the St. Louis Rams rookies. The first openly gay player drafted in the NFL is enthusiastic about the challenge. Sam says he hopes the attention is less about his sexual orientation but added his focus has to be on making the team.

ST. LOUIS (AP) - The Tampa Bay Rays have placed right-handed pitcher Joel Peralta on the 15-day disabled list with an undisclosed illness. Peralta is 2-3 with a 4.15 ERA in 43 appearances. The Rays recalled left-hander Jeff Beliveau from Triple-A Durham to replace Peralta on the roster. Beliveau joined the Rays for last night's game in St. Louis.
