Southern Athletics have 122 named to MIAA Academic Honor Roll - KOAM TV 7

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern athletic department had 122 student-athletes named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll as announced by the league office today.
In addition to the 122 named to the Academic Honor Roll, ten student-athletes earned Academic All-MIAA honors and six were given the MIAA's Academic Excellence award.
To be named to the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must have maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 and have at least two terms of attendance. To earn Academic All-MIAA status, a student-athlete must have maintained a 3.50 cumulative GPA and have earned All-MIAA status during their repective championship seasons. To be given the Academic Excellence award, student-athletes must have maintained a cumulative 4.00 GPA in at least two terms of attendance. Redshirt athletes are not eligible for any of the awards.
Southern's Academic All-MIAA winners were Kenny Smith from football, Jake Benton, Viktor Kuk and Aki Numella from men's track and field/cross country, Ashlee Russell from volleyball, Erin Rice from women's basketball, Michelle Dimza from soccer, and Olga Bulgurova, Ashley Bunch and Vanessa Langford from women's track and field/cross country.
Winners of the prestigious Academic Excellence award were Benton, Amelia Judge and Haley Martin from Volleyball, Megan Jenisch from soccer, and Victoria Kline and Bulgurova from women's track and field/cross country.
