Friday Afternoon July 15th

A large high pressure are will keep us dry for the most part for the weekend and rest of the week. It is just hard to get storms to develop when you have this type of sinking (not rising) air mass over us. Chances of rain are below 10% so I will not include that low of a chance in the 7 Day. Another hot couple of weeks are definitely among us as I look into the long range forecast. The weekend looks dry and very hot again with upper 90s. Have a good evening everyone.

From Doug Heady Earlier:

When I look down the road I just don't see much changes.  I showed you on the last blog what part of the pattern that we were in.  This summertime ridge is going to be a dominant feature in our weather for the next 2 months.  So I would be willing to be that we will continue to see the excessive heat and our rain chances aren't going to be the best.  We will see thunderstorms, but not the amount that we need to see.

Remember my theories are that a new pattern will begin in late September and early October.  But our new cycle will begin here very shortly, but it will be wrapped up in this old pattern.  Once September and October roll around we will start to see some much bigger changes.  This will slowly allow me to see what we will see for the late fall, winter, spring and next summer.  The first crucial month to watch is September.  Then I will really focus on October and November with the new pattern.  Stay cool everyone.

 July (17th-23rd):

Temperatures will stay hot at the beginning of the week.  There are extremely slight chances for rain with the afternoon heating of the day, but I am going to keep it dry for now.  A little upper level wave will affect us with slight chances for thunderstorms on Wednesday and Thursday, but that is about it.  Temperatures will be in the 90s to near 100 most of the week.

 Severe threat:  very Low(Wednesday-Thursday)

July (24th-30th):

We will continue on the hot side at the beginning of the week.  We will see very slight chances for thunderstorms on Sunday and Monday with a weak wave.  Besides that we will be mainly dry until another slight chance very late in the week towards the weekend.  I expect highs to be in the 90s to near 100 degrees again this week.

Severe threat:  very Low(Sunday,Friday, Saturday)

July 31st-August 6th:

A warm to hot start to the week with slight chances for thunderstorms over the last weekend in July. Then a second wave will affect us with again slight chances for thunderstorms on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  I think temperatures will be hot again this week, but a little cooler than the couple weeks prior to this.

Severe threat:  Low(Sunday,Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)

August 7th-13th:

A hot start to the week with mainly dry conditions.  We will see a system affecting us the second half of the week with chances for scattered thunderstorms.  This will be mainly Tuesday through Friday.  I also think this will drop our temperatures just a bit.

severe threat:  Low(Tuesday-Friday)
