This Saturday certainly has been a rainy one. We had over 2 inches reported at the Joplin Airport over just the last 6 hours. There have been some flood advisories issued and even some tornado warnings over northeast Oklahoma tonight (near Tulsa). So far we have just seen storms over the immediate 4 State Region with lightning and heavy rains.
More storms overnight as well. We will once again have a night of heavy rain, lightning, and some strong storms at times. The tornado threat is low, but a severe thunderstorm with brief damaging wind can NOT be ruled out completely. For the most part chances of this happening are relatively low. Below is a fast loading radar. I will put the direct link to our weather page right below it.

Doug continues Here from Friday:
We continue to see these weak little waves that have been rotating through. Here is a look at tomorrows wave and the weekend wave.
You can see the upper level weak wave in Iowa. Here is the weekend wave.
The weekend wave drops right through the area. This should give us better chances for widespread rains over the weekend. I am thinking just scattered showers on Friday. A band of showers late Friday night and Saturday. I think the best chances for rain on Saturday will be the first 3/4 of the day. Then another batch of rain on Saturday night and lasting through the first half of the day on Sunday. Rainfall won't be extremely heavy, but we should get some. Here is a look at the GFS model precip amounts over the next 60 hours.
This shows most of us picking up about 1/2" of rain. That would be great, lets keep our fingers crossed on getting some rain.
Here is your latest 7-day forecast.
I am still watching our new pattern closely. Remember I believe that it will be fully in place here in about 3 weeks. I am picking up on some huge signs that it is really evolving. I can still see the old pattern, but the new one is really showing its face. I am currently studying what the new cycle length is going to be. I have a very good idea at this time. Now over the next 6 weeks I have to figure this pattern completely out. Also I will figure out what we can expect for the winter and spring. Will this be another active winter like we have seen over the past couple of years?
Here is your latest long range forecast below.
