Southern men win dual with Pittsburg State

JOPLIN --  The Missouri Southern cross country program came up big with three of the top five finishers and took home a dual with Pittsburg State today at the Missouri Southern Cross Country Course. 

Southern was led by freshman Eric Schott who placed second in the event with a time of 24:28.30 over the 8k course. Sophomore Jake Benton placed third with a time of 24:54.30, while freshman Andrew Webster placed fourth in a time of 24:55.80. 

Freshmen Colton Wooldridge and Trey Berry placed seventh and tenth for the Lions, while fellow freshman Adrian Todd was 11th. Junior Sam Pogue was 13th and junior Andrew Webb was 16th. Freshman Tony Crowder and sophomore Alex Mason placed 17th and 19th, respectively. 

Southern will be back in action on October 1 when the Lions travel to Stillwater, Okla. to take part in the Oklahoma State Jamboree.
