The City of Joplin is set to hand out the first round of trees to storm victims. Thousands of trees were destroyed in the storm-damaged area and now the Joplin Parks Department is ready to replace those trees for homeowners in that area who have completed the rebuilding or repairs to their home.
The Parks Department says its goal is to have 2,000 trees planted by the end of fall.
Homeowners are eligible for two trees.
