
JOPLIN-- Six players scored in double-figures tonight for the fourth-ranked Missouri Southern men's basketball team as the Lions defeated visiting Central Bible, 92-60 at the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center.
Southern (3-0) was led offensively by a career-high 12 points and 18 rebounds from Mike Thompson. Keane Thomann had a team-high 16 points on 8-12 shooting and six rebounds. Jordan Talbert had 14 points and eight rebounds, while Christian Salecich and Matt Everson both scored 12 points. Jason Adams wrapped up the double-figure madness with ten points of his own.
CBC (1-4) was led in scoring by Terrance Culler with 17 points.
Southern opened up a 25-5 lead after a three pointer by Patrick Hester. The Lions upped the lead to 27 twice in the half, the last at 47-20 with 42 seconds left.
The Lions' lead reached the largest of the night at 36 on a layup from Thompson with 12:57 left in the second half.
Southern will be back in action this weekend when they take on Avila and Mid-America Nazarene in the Pittsburg State Tournament.
