Saturday PM December 3rd

Good evening, folks! Hopefully you all managed to make the best of a day where we keep getting socked with clouds and rain almost nonstop. However, looking ahead, Mother Nature wants to throw quite a few curve balls our way as we head into the upcoming week. Let's start with a look at the rain right now...

Current Radar:

We're already seeing some more rain trying to get going southwest of the area, so we'll keep dodging rain throughout the night before we get a brief break in the action for Sunday morning and the first half of your Sunday afternoon. As we head into Sunday night and into Monday, look at what happens:

The upper level low that Doug and I have been watching coming in from the Southwest... It'll kick in during the evening on Sunday. What that'll do is force moisture over the cold front and back into our area. What will start off as a rain-snow mix as temperatures fall will end as all snow as we struggle to reach 32 for a high on Monday. The snow won't stick around for all of your Monday... When the snow finally moves out Monday afternoon, areas north of I-44 will see anywhere from a dusting to maybe an inch of snow tops. For areas south of I-44 and heading east into the Ozarks, snow totals between 1 and 3 inches will be likely. Despite cold air moving in for most of the week, we get a break before the next potential storm system moves in for Friday and Saturday. The next system doesn't look very impressive right now, but the chances for snow flurries are there. We'll keep an eye on THAT system as the days move on.

Here is your latest 7-day forecast.

 LONG RANGE FORECAST

 Next Weekend:

Looks cold and mainly dry at this time.

December 11th-17th:

A storm system should move in on Monday giving us rain and snow chances for Monday and Tuesday.  Then we will be dry through the middle of the week.  Our next system will give us slight chances for rain or snow around Friday.

December 18th-24th:

Another storm system moves at the beginning of the week.  This will give us rain and snow chances on Sunday and Monday.  Then we will see a series of waves late in the week and into the weekend.  Most likely looking at the set-up, we will see rain chances on Thursday and Friday.  If we can get enough cold air, we could go over to ice or snow for Christmas Eve and Day.

December 25th-31st:

Temperatures will stay cool through the week.  We will see a weak system during the middle of the week with slight chances for rain or snow.  Then again slight chances for snow by the New Year.
