COPY-Early Sunday morning Dec. 4th

Good evening, everyone. It seems as though no matter how hard we try, we just can't shake the clouds away. Because of that and winds coming from the north, we had another day with an early morning high in the middle 30s and, as of 9:02 PM, our low temperatures are where most of us are right now (upper 20s to around 30 degrees). We managed to avoid a potential round of snow today, but more flakes are trying to sneak in from the west.

Current Radar:

This upper-level wave that's producing the snow out in central Oklahoma will continue to move east towards the Four State Area. At first, Doug and I were thinking that the air would stay dry enough to prevent any snow from reaching the ground. However, after looking at the latest model run, some spots are not as dry as others. With this wave holding together, some random snow showers are possible after midnight but any potential accumulation would be VERY minor (from a dusting to 1/2 an inch at worst). Our overall setup improves heading into our Tuesday:

The very few snow showers that stick around will be gone by lunchtime tomorrow. However, it will be another cold day with highs in the lower to middle 30s and the northerly winds at 10-15 mph will make it feel like we're in the 20s. Looking ahead, a brief warm-up as we head into Thursday with highs in the middle 40s and Saturday looks good if you're planning on going to the Pitt State game. Mostly sunny for Saturday with highs in the middle 40s. We're watching another potential wave of wintry precip possibly moving in on Monday, but we're still several days away. This system certainly bears watching.

Here is your latest 7-day forecast.

 LONG RANGE FORECAST

 Next Weekend:

Looks cold and mainly dry at this time.

December 11th-17th:

A storm system should move in on Monday giving us rain and snow chances for Monday and Tuesday.  Then we will be dry through the middle of the week.  Our next system will give us slight chances for rain or snow around Friday.

December 18th-24th:

Another storm system moves at the beginning of the week.  This will give us rain and snow chances on Sunday and Monday.  Then we will see a series of waves late in the week and into the weekend.  Most likely looking at the set-up, we will see rain chances on Thursday and Friday.  If we can get enough cold air, we could go over to ice or snow for Christmas Eve and Day.

December 25th-31st:

Temperatures will stay cool through the week.  We will see a weak system during the middle of the week with slight chances for rain or snow.  Then again slight chances for snow by the New Year.
