Charity fraud settlement results in money for Missouri organizations

Updated:

The Missouri Attorney general says he's mailed checks to Saint Paul's Lutheran Church in Marshfield and Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri.

It's part of the settlement agreement against Puerto Rico based Alivio Foundation for an alleged charity fraud.

Chris Koster says Alivio solicited donations for the two charities claiming it would all go to help tornado survivors.

But Koster says neither organization had ever heard of Alivio.

The checks mailed today were for about $4,500 to each organization.
