Reported December 28, 2011:  Joplin residents have another chance to support their community by a simple vote.

Readers Digest magazine is holding a contest ranking the top cities in the country.

It's called "We Want To Know America" and the top 18 will receive a monetary award, with the top slot receiving $50,000.

"Joplin is still in need and we still have a lot of work to do here," says Charlie Brown, an advocate for Joplin.  "We still have a lot of support, so it's another way that people can volunteer and just jump on board."

If Joplin receives money from the contest it will go toward Par Hill Park.

Voting ends on March 1.
