
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. --Brooke Conley hit a pair of 3-pointers in the game's final 80 seconds as No. 13 Pitt State rallied for an 81-73 victory over upset-minded Lincoln Wednesday (Jan. 4) at Jason Gym.
The Gorillas (13-0, 7-0 MIAA) outscored the Blue Tigers 9-3 to break open a 72-70 game down the stretch.
Lincoln led by as many as 11 points in the first half.
Conley, Larissa Richards and Lizzy Jeronimous all scored 15 points to pace the Pitt State offense, while Drew Roberts finished with 11. The Gorillas shot 53.4 percent (31-for-58) from the floor in the game, including 56.0 percent (14-for-25) in the second half.
Lincoln's Vivian Essuon led all scorers with 27 points, posting a double-double with a game-high 16 rebounds as well. Dahlia Booker (13) and Cierra Emerson (12) also scored in double figures for the Blue Tigers.
Pitt State will return to action Saturday (Jan. 7) when the Gorillas travel to Emporia, Kan., to face No. 19 Emporia State. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m. (CST) at William L. White Auditorium.
