"ACADEMY SPORTS & OUTDOORS" Contest
Official Rules
January 2012

1. Saga Quad States Communications, LLC (KOAM-TV) and Surtsey Media LLC (KFJX-TV, FOX 14) ("the stations") will be conducting the Academy Sports and Outdoors Grand Opening Contest ("the contest") starting on or around January 14 & ending on or around January 27, 2012. No purchase is necessary to enter or win the contest. This contest is an internet-only contest.
2. The contest will begin with on-line registration through the station's websites, www.koamtv.com and www.fox14tv.com. Only on-line entries will be accepted. Contestants will be required to first register as users of the websites prior to entering the contest. Contestants will need to provide first and last name, Current mailing address, day time telephone number and date of birth.
3. Contestants must be Eighteen (18) years of age or older as of January 14, 2012.
4. The winner(s) will be randomly selected from all qualified on-line entries. Five (5) contest winners will be selected. One winner will be chosen prior to the KOAM Morning News on each of the following days: Monday, January 23; Tuesday, January 24; Wednesday, January 25; Thursday, January 26; and Friday, January 27. Contest winners will win one (1) Fifty Dollar ($50.00) Academy Sports and Outdoors gift card. Value of prize is $50.00.
5. One (1) entry per person, per address allowed. Each member of a family living at the same address may enter the contest one (1) time.
6. Odds of winning are based upon the number of entries, which cannot be determined at this time.
7. Contest void where prohibited.
8. Employees of the stations and their immediate family members (parents, siblings, children, grandparents, grandchildren, & spouse) are not eligible to enter the contest.
9. The stations reserve the right to disqualify any contestant in the event that contest rules have been violated. All winners must sign a release acknowledging that either KOAM-TV or KFJX-TV has the right to, without further authorization, reasonably use the winner's name, voice, photo (still or video), likeness and/or biographical information, and that the stations may use such for promotional purposes on-the-air without further financial remuneration. In addition, contest winners release Saga Quad States Communications, LLC and Surtsey Media LLC, their parent corporations, their officers, directors, stockholders and employees from any and all claims, liabilities and damages arising directly or indirectly from award or use of the prize.
10. All prizes must be claimed at the stations studios during regular business hours 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. (This requirement may be waived when circumstances make it appropriate to do so) Winners are required to present valid identification as described here. All identification submitted to verify a winner is subject to verification and acceptance by the station and at its sole discretion. Identification that is counterfeit, illegible, tapered with or otherwise altered will not be accepted. The stations can require presentation of an original birth certificate, passport, Social Security card, valid driver's license or other identification to verify the winner's identity.
11. Prize must be claimed within thirty (30) days of the end of the contest. Failure to collect the prize within the specified period constitutes forfeiture of the prize. If forfeited, the prize will remain the property of the station. Another winner will not be selected.
12. KOAM-TV and KFJX-TV reserve the right to alter the contest rules and/or contest dates at any time.
13. All decisions of the station's management regarding the contest are final.
14. In the event that the winner is subject to, or the subject of, any order of legal process issued by any government agency having jurisdiction over the affairs of the winner,(e.g. garnishment, child support order, judgment, lien and the like), Saga Quad States Communication's and Surtsey Media LLC's delivery of the prize to the official government entity claiming right to the prize shall be entitled to rely in good faith upon any documents presented by the representatives seeking to collect the prizes in lieu of the winner. Saga Quad States Communications LLC and Surtsey Media LLC shall not be liable for any claim by winner for damage incidental thereto.
15. Winner is responsible for all transportation, transfers, gratuities, and other expenses associated with this prize.
16. A copy of the rules is available at the station's main studios, 10 miles south of Pittsburg KS on Highway 69/400, or at the station's Joplin office, 745 Rangeline, during normal business hours, or on the website at www.koamtv.com and www.fox14tv.com.
