Crunch peanut butter bars (3/16/2012)

Ingredients

 

  • 2 3/4 cups soy flour blend
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1 1/2 cups cereal

 

Directions

 

  1. Combine in large bowl, soy flour blend, brown sugar, margarine, shortening, 1/2 cup peanut butter, egg, vanilla and salt; mix well.
  2. Press dough into ungreased 15x10x1 inch baking pan.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes or until set.
  4. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
  5. While mixture is cooling; combine chocolate chips and 1/2 cup peanut butter in saucepan and heat stirring until smooth.
  6. Add cereal and stir to combine.
  7. Spread chocolate mixture on warm bars.
  8. Let cool.
  9. Cut into bars.
Makes 4 dozen.
