Good Sunday evening, everyone. That was quite an interesting Super Bowl game that just wrapped up! It seemed very close throughout the entire game, but the Giants were able to pull off the win. I'm sure there may be questions as to who performed better tonight, but the main question for me is... Why would Ferris Bueller end up driving a Honda CR-V?? It may be a good car, but I'd picture him Matthew Broderick's character driving something a little more cooler in the eyes of everyone else.
Let's get to the forecast for the work week ahead.
Current Radar:
After starting off the day with plenty of clouds, it was nice to see them break apart as we headed into tonight. Let's at least be thankful that we didn't see the chances for drizzle or flurries come to fruition this morning heading into the lunch hour. Since the skies did clear out quickly, we warmed up into the upper 40s and lower 50s for afternoon highs. We can get highs back into the lower 50s for Monday thanks to light winds and mostly sunny skies.
Heading into Monday evening, the clouds will begin to move back in ahead of the next frontal system that still plans on moving in throughout your Tuesday...

The picture above is where the next cold front is projected to be at 7 AM Tuesday morning. It will take its time coming through the Four-States, and we'll have plenty of clouds and at least a 30% chance to pick up on some more precipitation. As the front pushes through, it'll start as rain. As temperatures drop heading into Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, we'll see everything change over to a mix and to snow. We'll be done with this weak system when you head to work or school on Wednesday. Another change we'll be watching will move in during the upcoming weekend...

This is a map of temperatures and winds at 850 mb (a little ways up the atmosphere from the surface) on Sunday morning. While the temperatures at this level are in Celsius, we're starting to look at a big chill coming in for next week. Granted, this is still a week away. However, this is lining up with Doug's pattern and his month-long forecast. Looks like we may finally feel a bit of winter's chill before we know it. Until then, have a great day!

LONG RANGE FORECAST
Next Thursday-Saturday:
Temperatures shouldn't be bad through the period. However, the models aren't showing anything popping up. But I wouldn't be surprised if a weak wave appears.
February 12-18th:
A cool start to the week with our next wave on Monday and Tuesday. This will give us rain chances and maybe some snow chances. Then we will turn colder again for the rest of the week. Another very weak wave will push in over the weekend with very slight chances for rain or snow.
February 19th-25th:
Still cool for the beginning of the week. We will see a couple fast moving waves with rain or snow chances. Most likely on Monday and Wednesday. Temperatures will start to moderate as we work into the weekend.
February 25th-March 3rd:
A mild start to the week with rain chances on Monday and Tuesday. If we can get some cold air, this system could end with some snow. Cool temperatures for the middle of the week. Another system for Friday and Saturday with rain or snow chances again.
