Good Monday evening everyone. Well I hope you all enjoyed a little bit of snow. We ranged anywhere from 3/4"-2.8" across the viewing area. Let me post the snowfall totals for you.

My son Christian and I got out and had a great time playing in the snow. We built a snowman and even my dog Jack enjoyed it. However, he kept fetching the arms of the snowman, lol.

Now temperatures are still sitting right at that freezing mark. I do think we will drop back into the upper 20s later tonight. So until about 2am, watch out for some freezing drizzle on the roadways. Here is a look at the current radar. But remember that the drops from drizzle are so small that most radars don't pick it up.
Current Radar:
We will start the day with some clouds, but eventually see partly sunny skies. Guys make sure you don't forget about your sweetheart. Our next storm system moves in tomorrow night and on Wednesday. Lets take a look at it.
You can see it has a pretty intense upper level wave rolling out through the central plains. This should produce showers and even a few thunderstorms late Tuesday night and mainly Wednesday morning. Here is a look at the simulated radar for mid morning Wednesday.
We should be well warm enough for all of this to stay rain. This system will blow right on through and we should be dry by Thursday. We do have a weak system on Friday and Saturday, but I think we will stay dry. But it will cool us down just a bit.
We are still right on track with our pattern and my theories that we are about a 49 day cycle. With that said, I think we will be decently active for the rest of the month and into March. I think we still have chances we could see some additional winter weather. Remember that I have said we average about 17" of snow per season. The lowest amount we have ever had since records began was in 2005-2006 when we had 2.5" of snow. With the 1.6" we saw in Joplin today, this puts us up to 2.8" for the season. So we won't set any records from this winter. I have updated the long range forecast below. Make sure to check it out.

Here is your latest 7-day forecast.
LONG RANGE FORECAST
Next Tuesday-Saturday:
Rain chances will continue on Tuesday. Right now it doesn't look like we will get cold enough to switch over to snow. Another weak wave on Friday with slight chances for showers. Then cooling down for the weekend.
February 25th-March 3rd:
A cool start to the week with our next storm system moving in. This will give us rain or snow chances on Sunday, Monday and probably into Tuesday. We will dry out for the middle of the week and warm up towards the weekend. Then our next system moves in with rain chances on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
March 4th-10th:
Sunday will still have rain or snow chances in the forecast. Then we will cool down and dry out for most of the week. We will see temperatures warm up a bit for the weekend with a weak wave and a chance for a few showers.
March 11th-17th:
A stronger system right at the beginning of the week. This will give us rain or even thunderstorm chances on Sunday and Monday. Then we will cool down with rain and snow chances on Wednesday and Thursday. We should dry out and stay fairly cool into the weekend.
