Sunday night / Monday AM Feb 20th

Good Sunday night and early Monday morning everyone.  Well I am about to enter an extremely busy week this week.  However, I am very excited.  Nick and I have been working this weekend on our new weather system.  I guess we really shouldn't have been just yet, but we had to play on it.  We start training on it tomorrow.  So I will be working about 15 hour days all week long as we learn this new system.  I am in awe with what this system will do.  The graphics are the best you will see in any market.  Plus our new radar system is absolutely the best out there.  We had to go out and get the best after what happened last year with severe weather.  I was hoping we would get it before severe weather season and it is here.  This will just allow me to see storms even better and tornadic weather faster and be able let you all know.  I am super excited, can you tell?  lol.

However, on top of all of this going on we do have a storm system moving into the area.  I think most of the day will be dry, but we will see chances for showers and a few thunderstorms late in the day.  Here is a look at the radar below right now.

We will really see temperatures warm up for us today.  Highs should go well into the 50s if not near 60 degrees.  As this fairly strong fast moving system pushes in, scattered thunderstorms will develop by mid afternoon.  Then as the system rolls through during the mid and late evening.  We will see a band of stronger thunderstorms.  Here is a look at the simulated radar for 9pm.

Now I am not expecting severe thunderstorms, but we could definitely see some strong thunderstorms.  Some of these stronger storms could have some small hail and gusty winds.  These will blow on through and it looks pretty good by Tuesday.

The rest of the week will be up in down.  We will have a lot of fast moving storm systems that will be blowing by.  These will play ha vac with our temperatures, but we should be mainly dry.  We will turn colder by Friday, but then warm up a bit over the weekend ahead of our next storm system.  I am still watch chances for a much stronger system early next week.  This would probably come out in two waves.  The first wave with showers and the colder air.  The second wave could be wintry weather, so we have a lot to watch.  Here is a look at it below.

When I look at this map, to me it does look familiar.  Why you might ask?  Lets go back 49 day prior to it.

On January 8th we had the same system, but a lack of moisture.  This time around we could very well have the moisture.  Remember that my theories are that we are in a 49 day cycle this year.  This is the pattern I have been developing for over 10 years now.  To me this looks like a possible ice set up.  The reason I say this is because a cold front pushes through with arctic air and it sits over us.  Then we could get warm air overriding that cold air at the surface.  This is a long ways away, but something I want to watch closely.

Here is your latest 7-day forecast.

LONG RANGE FORECAST

Next Weekend:

With the cool air working in and out late in the week, I do think we will warm up through the weekend.  We will see rain chances by Sunday.

February 25th-March 3rd:

We will have the rain chances on Sunday as this next storm system works through.  Right now I think it is very possible to get enough cold air to get some wintry weather by Monday or into Tuesday.  So we need to watch this as we get closer.  Temperatures will warm back up late in the week.  Our next system moves in with rain on Friday and Saturday.

March 4th-10th:

As cooler air works in on the backside of the storm system over the weekend, we could see some wintry weather.  Then mainly dry and cool through the week.  Warmer temperatures by the weekend with rain chances returning.

March 11th-17th:

A stronger system right at the beginning of the week.  This will give us rain or even thunderstorm chances on Sunday and Monday.  Then we will cool down with rain and snow chances on Wednesday and Thursday.  We should dry out and stay fairly cool into the weekend.
