Wednesday AM Feb 22nd

Good Wednesday morning everyone.  First off I want to apologize that my blogs haven't been a little more in depth like they usually are.  I am training on this new weather system and working 15-18 hour days.  Everything has been kinda put on the back burner.  However, it is going great and as soon as I have it ready I will launch it.

Looks like another great day for us today.  We will see very windy conditions, but temperatures should push into the upper 60s for highs.  You can't be that in the latter half of February.  You can check out the radar below as we have some fast moving waves passing by to our north.

Now don't get to used to the spring like temperatures.  We will see changes.  On Thursday a pretty strong cold front will work into the area.  Here is a look at Thursday morning.

You can see we are still on the south side of the front at this time.  So I still think we will see a quick warm up, then temperatures will drop off during the afternoon.  However, I think we should stay dry.  We will see the clouds increase, but I think any rain or snow will stay north of the area.  Temperatures will moderate just a bit over the weekend.  Another fairly strong cold front will pass through on Sunday.  The latest data supports all of the rain staying north of us, but I will keep a slight chance in for now.  Then it gets a little interesting.  We are still in the more active stretch of the pattern.  This is why we have had a lot more rain and even some snow over the past few weeks.  My theories are that we continue to sit about at a 49 days.  So we should have a wave next Tuesday and Wednesday.  The models are having troubles with how strong will it be.  But we should at least have chances for some wintry weather on Tuesday and Wednesday.  I said chances, so we will wait and see if it can come together.  I am still wondering how strong will the wave be and how much moisture will be available.

Doug

Here is your latest 7-day forecast.

LONG RANGE FORECAST

Next Wednesday-Saturday:

I am still going to keep wintry weather chances in the forecast for Wednesday.  Then cool temperatures for a day or so before warming up a bit by the weekend.  Rain chances will return by Saturday and Sunday.

March 4th-10th:

Mild with rain chances over the weekend.  Then a second wave will affect us around Tuesday and Wednesday with rain or snow chances.  Then we should be cool and mainly dry for the rest of the week.

March 11th-17th:

Mild temperatures early in the week with rain chances.  We will see two waves, so rain chances will stick around from Sunday through Wednesday.  We could see a little wintry weather on the back end of this system.  Then another wave with rain chances on Friday and Saturday.

March 18th-24th:

A cool start to the week with cool temperatures through the middle of the week.  Then temperatures will moderate for the second half of the week with rain chances by the week.
