Work on a new women's center at Pittsburg's Via Christi Hospital gets a boost.
$10,000 was given by the Kemper Foundation.
The donation was made on the third floor of Via Christi where the new women's center will be built.
Renovation increases the size of the current women's services by nearly three times, allowing for better services for labor and educational resources.
Today's donation from the Kemper Foundation will be put towards the project's $1.1 million. cost.
"We are about at the halfway point," says Duane Dreiling of the Mt. Carmel Foundation. "So we still have about $600,000 to raise. So, we'll still be talking to a lot of people our in the community and looking at different ways to raise that final $600,000.
One of the rooms in the new women's center will be named after the Kemper Foundation.
