A brand new grocery store and gas station opens its doors to the public this afternoon.
Harps is located on Highway 171 in the village of Airport Drive.
Customers were greeted with cake and other treats. Harps joins other nearby grocery stores like Price Cutters and Walmart.
It's the second Harps store opened in southwest Missouri.
"We have a little store in Noel that we've had for a long time," says manager Heath Black. "This is the first store we've built in this area. So it's kind of, see how things go."
Both Black and customers say low prices, customer service and the location will be a key competitive edge.
"We've grown in northwest Arkansas, right there with Walmart, so we've constantly battled Walmart and we've done a great job in succeeding in what we do," says Black.
"I was a shopper of Price Cutters and one store in Carl Junction, but this is so close to home, I can run up here and get specials and things like that," says customer Marilyn Fearlin. "It's a beautiful store and it'll be really good for the community, but I think it's going to be a great store."
