From the City of Parsons:
PARSONS, KS—The city water distribution system will begin flushing water lines on Monday, May 7, 2012. This flushing will have a duration time of 3 to 4 weeks.
Residents may notice some water discoloration and/or cloudiness. There may also be a chlorine taste and odor during this time and water pressures could be low, but all of these effects are temporary.
Flushing the water lines is an important operational procedure for any water system. The purpose of flushing is to remove sediments and stale water and to help maintain chlorine residuals throughout the distribution system.
Any questions or problems may be directed to Derek Clevenger, Director of Utilities at 620-421-7020.
Residents are asked to keep in mind that this annual process is part of the City's ongoing efforts to provide safe drinking water to all of our customers.
