New legislation was one of the many topics at this year's Oklahoma Pet Professional's Education seminar on Sunday in Miami, Oklahoma.
The group says a bill proposed by the Humane Society will remove all oversight from the commercial pet breeders board.
Breeders are asking for commercial breeders to be put under the Department of Agriculture.
"They're used to dealing with larger numbers and the disease control processes and breeding processes that you have when you're dealing with larger numbers of animals," says The King, President of Oklahoma Pet Professionals.
Also at the education session was the 13th annual Pet Expo. Dog owners showed off their pooches during a show where the dogs competed in agility and other categories.
