
NEOSHO, MO – The Crowder College Lady ‘Riders Softball Team captured the Region 16 Championship by defeating Three Rivers Community College, 5-1, in the Region 16 finals today. The Lady ‘Riders stayed on the winning side of the bracket defeating St. Charles by a score of 8-0, Three Rivers by 3-1 and 5-1, respectively.
As Region 16 Champions the Lady ‘Riders will host the winner of Region 11 from Iowa in a best of 3 series for the District K Championship, May 4-5. The winner of District K would advance to the
National Championship Tournament in St. George, UT, May 17. The Lady ‘Riders last appearance in the National Tournament was in 2007. Overall, the Lady ‘Riders have made 8 National Tournament appearances winning the tournament in 1986. Head Coach Lori Videmschek was a member of the team that won the 1986 National Tournament.
All-Region honors were announced prior to the tournament with the following players named:
1st Team: Morgan Coleman (Webb City, MO), Navada Campos (Pryor, OK), Jessica Neely (Nevada, MO), Brooke Hulsey (Neosho, MO), Carson Forge (Hallsville, MO) and Kaily Harvey (Rocky Comfort, MO)
2nd Team: Jessica Wirzberg (Coldspring, TX)
Coach Lori Videmschek was awarded the Region 16 Coach of the Year after the tournament.
