A special mirror will be making its rounds to different Joplin businesses in the next few days. The mirror has the names of the 161 people that died in last year's tornado etched on its surface.
There's going to be a raffle for who will own the mirror. Tickets are $20 a piece with proceeds going towards the Ozark Center for Autism, an organization whose building was destroyed in the tornado.
One couple who is in charge of the project says they wanted to give a piece of their heart to Joplin.
"We wanted to do something for the community," says Kellie Denney of Felicity Candle & Glass Etching Co. "We weren't able to, as far as funds or anything, during the tornado. So with our company we decided this would be something that we could raise money. Be able to give something special to the community."
Thursday was the mirror's last day at Joplin's Cycle Connection Harley-Davidson store. Here is the remaining schedule for the mirror:
The drawing held be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 1 at the Ozark Center for Autism.
