Carl Junction has a new attraction to draw visitors and share some of its history.
A life size replica of a mammoth made of foam now stands at the Community Center in Carl Junction.
Marv Dahmen, a former art teacher and sculptor, made the model of the mammoth.
While it doesn't include all 430 bones of a mammoth, Marv says it will show people a skeleton similar to two that were once discovered in a Carl Junction sinkhole and then lost.
Marv says it's a mystery but he believes the owner, who was a businessman and dabbling miner named Stuckey, might have sold the actual skeletons.
The model mammoth doesn't have a name yet but there's already talk of a naming contest.
