A ribbon cutting in Carthage, Missouri opens up a unique opportunity.
387 students from Fairview Elementary school and community members gathered to celebrate the opening of the Bridge of Hope. The bridge links the school with the Carthage Health and Rehab Center.
"We are looking at an opportunity here to create learning experiences for our elementary school students where they can come over and meet and work with older adults in the rehabilitation center and learn about there lives, and learn about their experiences and hopefully we can help educate those folks about our kids as well," says Carthage Schools Superintendent Blaine Henningsen.
The Bridge of Hope was built by the Carthage High School technology department's carpentry classes.
