Sheriff Horton named a distinguished alumnus by Pittsburg High

As he prepares to step down as the Crawford County Sheriff, Sandy Horton has been named the 2012 recipient of the Pittsburg Community Schools Distinguished Alumnus Award.

Sheriff Horton is a 1973 graduate of Pittsburg High School.  He will address the class of 2012 at Saturday's PHS commencement ceremony and his portrait and a plaque in his honor will soon hang on the Distinguished Alum wall at the high school.

Horton has dedicated more than 30 years to serving Crawford County.
