Kansas American Legion awards 4 State Heroes program

Updated:

All of at KOAM and Fox 14 are honored to receive an award from the Kansas American Legion.

The award is from a group of veterans who wanted to recognize our 4 State Heroes program, where we tell you about a current soldier or veteran each newscast.

Vietnam veteran Dale Allen presented us the award and says hopefully viewers are reminded of a soldier's bravery.

"We don't start wars, politicians start wars," says Allen.  "The military tries to win the war."

The 4 State Heroes program has been airing since 2005.
