PUEBLO, Colo. -- Missouri Southern women's track and field athletes Melanie Bowerand Lisa Vengels both finished tenth in their respective events today in day two of the 2012 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships. 

Bower, a freshman and the MIAA indoor and outdoor pole vault champion this year, placed tenth in the pole vault with a height of 11-09.75. 

Vengels entered the day sixth in the heptathlon, but fell to tenth in the final standings. She finished tenth in the 800m, 12th in the javelin and 14th in the long jump. She finished with 4,760 points in the event. 

Both Dustin Green and Clark Tanksley took home All-American honors today in day two of the 2012 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The Lions are in 13th place as a team after two days of action. 

Green placed fourth in the discus with a distance of 182-02, a new personal best for the junior. Freshman Nicklas Polizzi placed tenth in the event with a distance of 167-11. 

Tanksley was seventh in the high jump with a height of 6-10.75. 

Missouri Southern senior thrower Nicole Green earned All-American status today in the final day of the 2012 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships. 

Green earned her fifth overall All-American nod in the event as she placed fourth overall with a new personal best of 49-9-00. 

The Missouri Southern men's track and field team picked up two more All-American performances today in the final day of the 2012 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships. 

Freshman Jeff Fraley earned another All-American honor in the 200m, as the Waynesville, Mo. native followed up his indoor All-American performance with another stellar showing in the outdoor championships. He placed seventh in the event with a time of 20.92. The time is .13 off of a school record. 

Freshman Darion Boure also brought home All-American honors as the St. Louis native placed eighth with a distance of 49-10. The jump breaks his own school record in the event of 49-7.25 that he set in the Lions' only home event of the season this year. 

In other action Michael Juergens placed 13th in the pole vault with a height of 15-7. 

The Lions, as a team, placed 26th overall with 9.5 points.

     Missouri Southern was the unanimous pick to win the MIAA Men's Cross Country Championship, while in the women's poll four different teams earned first place votes. Southwest Baptist earned the top nod in the women's poll by four points as they received five of the 11 total first place votes. More >>
