PITTSBURG, Kan. (May 30, 2012) – Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg is honored to be named a Regional Business Excellence Award winner from the Kansas Department of Commerce. Of the 119 nominations made across the state of Kansas, only 22 were selected for the Regional Business Excellence Award. Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg was the only health care provider in the Southeast Region to be named in this elite category.

"It's quite an accomplishment to win the Regional Business Excellence Award and we are extremely proud of our staff and physicians who provide quality care for this community," Randy Cason, Via Christi Hospital Pittsburg President & CEO said. The Kansas Department of Commerce named its Regional Business Excellence Award winners as part of Business Appreciation Month, the Department's annual celebration of Kansas businesses and their contributions to their communities and the state economy. The 119 businesses were nominated in one of four categories: manufacturing/distribution, service, retail and hospital/non-profit.
